CBD What it is

Many people purchase their CBD at specialized shops, dispensaries and at times even gas stations! One of the often asked question by first users or those interested in trying this product is “how should I take it?”. Often CBD is sold in oils and come in a variety of extractions, such as full spectrum, broad spectrum and isolate. One of the most important aspects to remember when taking CBD is that it is impacting your endocannabinoid system (ECS). This is one of the most important physiological system in your body.

CBD – What does it mean?

CBD is the abbreviated name for cannabidiol, a non-intoxicating compound found in the cannabis sativa plant. Cannabidiol was the second cannabinoid that was discovered while studying the active principles of cannabis by Raphael Michoulam in the 1970s. Unlike Δ9-THC or what is more often referred to simply as THC and is the psychotropic compound found in cannabis, CBD is not psychotropic but has many subtle effects and health effects that are worth checking out such as inducing a calm state and helping prevent seizures which is its main accepted medical property. It is often sold in many formats with the most common and efficient format being CBD Oil.

What is CBD oil?

CBD oil is a solution of oil which with varying amounts of CBD. As CBD is a lipophilic compound, meaning that it binds to fats and fatty acids, this is one of the most common ways you will find CBD. Many companies use MCT oil from coconut or hemp seed oil. The ideal is to use a high omega 3 oil such as hempseed as it is most effective at raising the bioavailability of the CBD along with the absorption rate.

The most common method of taking CBD is by ingesting drops of CBD or placing them under the tongue. Placing them under the tongue is not the most effective way of taking the product as CBD should pass through the gastrointestinal tract to be absorbed.

Various types of oils are sold on the market, they are CBD isolates which only have CBD and no other cannabinoids. Full spectrum CBD oils which have CBD along with other cannabinoids such as CBG and small quantities of THC. The broad spectrum oils have all the cannabinoids except THC. When looking to try CBD it is recommended to try the isolate and use a good quality oil with it.  Ideally the drops should be dissolved in a high-quality oil such as the Good Fats Omega D3 oil for better absorption.

What are CBD drops?

CBD drops are drops of oil that a user ingests via a dropper. In high quality oils the drops are standardized and each drop will contain exactly 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 mgs of CBD. These should be ideally dissolved in oil such as the Omega D3 oil from Good Fats or some other high-quality oil before ingestion for maximal delivery effects.

What does CBD do?

CBD binds to the CB1 and CB2 receptors which are part of the endocannabinoid system and are found all over the body. They are connected with brain function and immune response among many other things. CBD works to partly inhibit and balance our endocannabinoid system which is very often hyperactivated in the case of stress and in our fast paced society.

CBD metaphorically speaking can help to induce a calmer state. CBD has also been found to have anti-inflammatory effects and anti-epileptic effects. CBD unlike THC also can help with lowering appetite especially when taken with a high quality oil such as hemp seed oil as a vector.

How to dose CBD?

It is important to know first of all what is the correct dosing for CBD? In terms of recent findings and surveys, the average daily dose for CBD users is 20 mg and some go all the way up to 40 mg but the ideal dose not to go over is 70 mg. It is important to have CBD that is correctly and standardly dosed.

For example taking a drop that corresponds to 5 mg would fulfill the average dose in four drops. It is important to note that CBD is absorbed in the GI tract and thus it does not make sense to stick it under one’s tongue. The best way of taking it is to dilute the drops in a high quality oil such as Good Fat’s Omega D3 oil and this will function as a great vector. The reason for this is that premium hemp seed oil with D3 is the raw fuel for all endocannabinoids to be balanced and it prevents the CBD from being degraded too quickly. Thus, it functions as a potentiator by increasing the bioavailability of the CBD and increasing the absorption of the CBD.

Where can I buy CBD?

CBD is found in various specialized shops and online. In Europe some of the cheapest CBD product that is sold without intermediary is the Populist Brand which is found on www.cbdonsale.eu and other brands. Various distributors such as Alpha Green are also ideal at www.alphagreen.io

In which country is CBD legal?

In most of Europe and the UK CBD is legal and considered a novel food item. There are some exception to this as some European countries have tried to limit the sale of the product due to it being also a pharmaceutical drug used to manage epilepsy in the form of the drug Epidiolex.

Fats and their benefit to us

Why fats are so important

Fats are an important source of energy and part of a healthy body and mind. If you avoid fats with fear in your eyes, you are making a big mistake. Fats also help to maintain body temperature, mechanically protect our internal organs, and most importantly, they are undoubtedly the foundation of life. In addition, fats are closely related to internal physical and mental balance. And if this balance is disturbed, we suffer, for example, from obesity, underweight, anxiety, fatigue, depression or high blood pressure and other civilisational diseases that can cause us a lot of pain and compromise our quality of life.

Fats and Endocannabinoid system

Healthy fat choices are essential for the proper and balanced function of the endocannabinoid system, which is essential for establishing balance in our bodies. When the endocannabinoid system or ECS system is overwhelmed, our body and our health is out of balance. Listen to your body and indulge it in what is good for it and what will help you on your journey to a healthy lifestyle.

Good quality fats

Rather than avoiding fats, pay attention to their quality. Prefer “good,” usually vegetable, unrefined and cold-pressed fats, also known as virgin fats. These are mainly fats rich in omega fatty acids 3, 6 and 9. These fats must be consumed in the right proportions from food. Limit your intake of saturated fats, which come mainly from animal foods, but also from palm or coconut oil. Avoid trans fats (TFA), which can still be found in extremely cheap or industrially processed foods.

Good fats is a source of omega 3, omega 6 and omega 9 fatty acids, in an ideal 3:1 ratio, which you should take regularly to support your own health. Don’t be afraid to take dietary supplements that have proven quality and actually have positive benefits for your body.

Endocannabinoid System

Why is the ENDOCANABINOID SYSTEM important and how does it help us?

Have you heard of the so-called ENDOCANABINOID SYSTEM? In this article you will learn what this system is important for each of us and how you can bring balance back into your life!

The endocannabinoid system or ECS is present in every living organism. It is an innate physiological mechanism and plays an important role in regulating the natural functions of our body. This is called homeostasis, which means the natural balance of the body’s environment. The ECS is therefore essential for maintaining our inner physical and mental well-being. And if this balance is disturbed, we can suffer from unpleasant symptoms such as anxiety, depression, obesity, sleep problems, fatigue and even food aversion.

What does the endocannabinoid system affect?

  • Physical and mental balance
  • Memory
  • Mood
  • Fight inflammation
  • Protects our nervous system
  • Affects sleep quality and overall immune system
  • Metabolism
  • Digestion
  • Reproduction
  • Pain
  • Blood pressure and cholesterol

If this system gets out of balance, there is a real problem. This is the overactivity of the endocannabinoid system, which is caused by the wrong ratio of dietary fat intake. And because of the overactivity of the ECS, we are putting ourselves at risk for health problems.

And how can you restore balance to your life? By regularly consuming good quality fats and omega fatty acids, you will contribute to your physical and physical balance and thus support the proper functioning of the endocannabinoid system, which is undoubtedly linked to our immunity, health and how we feel. Good quality fats that are essential for your health can be found in cold-pressed vegetable oils such as hemp, walnut, flaxseed or canola oil.

That’s why we recommend regular use of our premium hemp oil OMEGA +D3, which is one of the highest quality oils in the world. Just two teaspoons a day will satisfy your daily intake of the omega fatty acids your body needs.

How do I choose correct fats

How do I choose correct fats?

How do I choose correct fats

Rather than avoiding all fats, pay attention to their quality. The Mediterranean diet, which is widely recommended by experts, is in essence a diet with a high proportion of fats – as much as 45% of energy intake. Despite the high fat content, it has a beneficial impact on our health.

There are 3 basic rules everyone should know:

Give preference to good  fats, usually unrefined cold-pressed (virgin) vegetable fats:

  • Monounsaturated (Ω9) – for example olive oil
  • Polyunsaturated (Ω3, Ω6) – we also call them essential fats because the body is unable to manufacture them itself and we must get them from food, for instance in hemp, rapeseed, linseed or walnut oil.

Restrict your intake of saturated fats, which come mainly from animal products, as well as from palm oil and coconut oil.

Avoid trans fats (TFA). Thanks to increased awareness their presence in food products has decreased, however they may still be found in very cheap or industrially processed foods.
