Why fats are so important
Fats are an important source of energy and part of a healthy body and mind. If you avoid fats with fear in your eyes, you are making a big mistake. Fats also help to maintain body temperature, mechanically protect our internal organs, and most importantly, they are undoubtedly the foundation of life. In addition, fats are closely related to internal physical and mental balance. And if this balance is disturbed, we suffer, for example, from obesity, underweight, anxiety, fatigue, depression or high blood pressure and other civilisational diseases that can cause us a lot of pain and compromise our quality of life.
Fats and Endocannabinoid system
Healthy fat choices are essential for the proper and balanced function of the endocannabinoid system, which is essential for establishing balance in our bodies. When the endocannabinoid system or ECS system is overwhelmed, our body and our health is out of balance. Listen to your body and indulge it in what is good for it and what will help you on your journey to a healthy lifestyle.
Good quality fats
Rather than avoiding fats, pay attention to their quality. Prefer “good,” usually vegetable, unrefined and cold-pressed fats, also known as virgin fats. These are mainly fats rich in omega fatty acids 3, 6 and 9. These fats must be consumed in the right proportions from food. Limit your intake of saturated fats, which come mainly from animal foods, but also from palm or coconut oil. Avoid trans fats (TFA), which can still be found in extremely cheap or industrially processed foods.
